The data platform company for AI and high-performance workloads, WEKA (WekaIO) has appointed Anjani Kumar to head its Public Sector business across India. In his new role, Kumar will spearhead the company’s growth strategy across Central Government ministries, state government programmes, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and strategic national infrastructure and AI initiatives.
Kumar brings more than 19 years of experience in IT sales, with a strong track record of driving large-scale technology engagements spanning cloud, artificial intelligence, data storage and hybrid infrastructure across government and enterprise segments in India.
Prior to joining WEKA, Kumar spent a decade with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) India, where he served as Enterprise Account Manager. During his tenure, he managed several mission-critical Central Government accounts, including the Ministry of Railways, UIDAI and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. He also consistently exceeded annual sales targets while leading high-impact deployments across compute, storage and HPE Hybrid Cloud solutions.
Kumar’s career also includes business management and sales roles with global technology companies such as IBM India and EMC IT Solutions. His expertise spans software-defined storage (SDS), unstructured data management, SAN, NAS and enterprise backup architectures, with a particular focus on large and complex government accounts.
Kumar holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and an MBA in Marketing and IT. His experience across enterprise technology, data infrastructure and strategic government accounts is expected to further strengthen WEKA’s public sector presence and support its growth ambitions in India.
