Women’s Day at HCL Technologies

Women’s day at HCL Technologies is celebrated not just internally, but the company celebrates the occasion in less privileged communities as well. HCL hosted two Self-Defence Workshops for girls and women in Sai Siksha Youth Center & Vidya and Child Youth center in Noida today, to train them and make them prepared for unsafe situations. On this International Women’s day, HCL has taken an active decision in sponsoring self-defence workshop for the women in NCR to help them become aware of some of the most common unsafe circumstances. The girls were trained by Arun Sharma, an expert in the world of martial arts.
 
Around 60 women participated in the workshop. Women safety being the need of the hour, HCL believes that this programme will help in making these women self-reliant and more confident in dealing with daily lives.
 HCLT Foundation has also launched IT Skill center where three-month skills training program are being offered to the girls from in and around the adjacent connecting villages of Noida. The students will be certified by HCLT Foundation and the training will also include confidence building, inter-personal development, soft-skills and stress-management sessions through volunteers. Participants are also made aware of the employment opportunities available to them.
HCL is celebrating the month of March as International Women Month by taking up various initiatives to empower the women. During the International Women’s Day Week, the company also launched a life-skills training programme ‘Nurture the Future’. It targets women from HCL’s supply-chain community and HCLT Youth Centers, in the age group 17 to 30 years.
