Yahoo is building its connection with Facebook by introducing features that will give its users more access to updates from the popular social networking site. The bridging together of these two popular websites will make it easier to share activities performed on Yahoo! sites across Facebook. The Yahoo! users will also have a Facebook newsfeed delivered to their homepage or mail.
The integration of Yahoo! and Facebook underscores the former's efforts to tap the popularity of social networking, and preventing its users from fleeing to hot sites like Facebook, which has more than 350 million users worldwide. Keeping people on its website longer would also mean selling more online ads, which would, in turn, further boost revenue growth.
Yahoo! also intends to rename Yahoo! Profiles to Yahoo! Pulse and change the settings to make privacy features easier to use.
