
India’s direct-to-consumer market has grown exponentially in the last few years and is likely to reach a size of $100 Bn by 2025.
Factors including the Covid pandemic, higher internet penetration, growth of digital infrastructure and rise in the number of millennials, among others, have bolstered the D2C brands. Some of the emerging D2C brands including Mamaearth, CaratLane and Nua took only a couple of years to reach Rs 100 Cr revenue mark.
As of 2021, India had more than 800 D2C startups operating in the country, of which fashion or clothing startups accounted for the largest share, and is expected to grow to $43.2 Bn by 2025.
Some of the popular D2C brands in India are Atomberg, Bewakoof, BlissClub, Bluestone, boat, Bombay Shirt Company, Bombay Shaving Company, CaratLane, Chaayos, Chai Point, Chumbak, Country Delight, Curefoods, Earth Rhythm, Lenskart, Noise, SUGAR Cosmetics, among others.
