Bollywood veteran singer, Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy that shaped the soundscape of Indian cinema and music for over eight decades. She was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to “extreme exhaustion and chest infection”, as per Instagram post of her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle. She is survived by her son, Anand, and her grandchildren.
As per news report, confirming the tragic news Dr Pratit Samdani at Breach Candy Hospital said, “Asha Bhosale breathed her last today in Breach Candy Hospital. She passed away due to multi-organ failure”.
Outside the hospital, her son Anand Bhosle stated that people can pay their last respects at her residence on April 13 at 11 am. Her last rites will be performed at 4 pm at Shivaji Park.
Asha Bhosle, the legend behind many hit songs started her journey in 1943 with her debut Marathi film song Chala Chala Nav Bala from Majha Bal.
She won two National Film Awards, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000, and India's Padma Vibhushan in 2008.
