MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel platform, has announced the launch of its next-generation GenAI-powered Trip Planning Assistant, designed to transform how travelers plan, book, and manage their journeys. This AI travel assistant enhances the end-to-end booking experience—right from destination discovery to post-trip support—through intelligent, conversational AI.
An evolution of its earlier AI chatbot, Myra, the new GenAI Trip Assistant allows users to interact via voice and text, supporting both English and Hindi. The system is built to empower a wider audience across India, including users from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, who previously struggled with English-based travel platforms. Support for more Indian regional languages is expected soon, enhancing accessibility for the Bharat market.
Unlike most AI travel bots that stop at suggesting destinations or hotels, Myra goes a step further by offering real-time bookings, personalized recommendations, and dynamic pricing all within a single conversational flow. It responds to complex, open-ended prompts like “Where can I travel with my kids in August for a relaxing trip?” or “Suggest a road trip route for South India avoiding flights,” delivering results powered by real-time availability and user preferences.

“Our in-house team has developed custom language models and layered them with planning, scheduling, and verification systems that work in sync and respond in real time. The result is a multi-agent AI framework that collaborates across categories to deliver a seamless experience. The system is currently in beta, allowing us to learn from real interactions and continue strengthening it,” said Sanjay Mohan, Group CTO, MakeMyTrip.
Built on a multi-agent AI framework, Myra supports travel across categories—flights, hotels, holiday packages, ground transport, forex, and visas—making it one of the most comprehensive AI travel planners available today. It also accepts multimodal input—including text, voice, image, and video—offering personalized, seamless digital travel experiences.
This move builds on MakeMyTrip’s long-standing focus on AI innovation in travel, including features like Fare Lock, Zero Cancellation, and predictive train booking tools. As it moves forward, the company plans to integrate semantic search, AI-powered image recognition, and intent-led video queries to redefine travel discovery and booking.
