Microsoft India AI has partnered with RailTel on a five-year initiative to accelerate digital transformation across Indian Railways and the public sector. This collaboration includes establishing an AI Center of Excellence (CoE) to position RailTel as a leading AI-driven organization and systems integrator. As part of the AI National Skills Initiative and Enterprise Skilling Initiative, RailTel employees will undergo extensive training in digital, cloud, and AI technologies. Together, RailTel and Microsoft aim to co-develop AI-driven solutions with technical guidance on product roadmaps.

Sanjai Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of RailTel, remarked, “Our partnership with Microsoft represents a pivotal step toward enhancing the digital capabilities of the Indian public sector. In healthcare, Microsoft has partnered with Apollo Hospitals to co-innovate on advanced AI solutions and develop the "Hospital of the Future." This collaboration will focus on areas such as disease progression, genomics, and multi-modal models to create world-class healthcare solutions. Key initiatives include the development of four AI-powered healthcare copilots—for clinicians, patients, nurses, and hospital operations—to enhance efficiency and outcomes.

Their projects involve multimodal AI applications for Mahindra's automotive division, chatbot solutions for the farm and tractor division, and multilingual capabilities for financial services.

 

 

In the education sector, Microsoft has teamed up with UpGrad to unlock AI’s potential in higher education and professional skilling. Over the next three years, the initiative aims to certify 1 million Indian STEM learners and professionals with foundational and advanced AI skills. Leveraging Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, and Azure OpenAI Service, UpGrad will provide enriched learning experiences across India and South Asia.
