Citizens can report online fraud via the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930) or www.cybercrime.gov.in and the government introduced the Chakshu Portal on the Sanchar Saathi website.
In a decisive cyber crime crackdown, the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttarakhand has launched ‘Operation Prahar’, targeting digital crime and online financial fraud. This large-scale effort aims to dismantle organized cyber criminals in Uttarakhand and beyond, ensuring justice for victims of digital scams.
The STF operation was conducted across multiple states, including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. The crackdown resulted in legal action against six individuals involved in cyber fraud. These criminals were reportedly linked to digital arrest scams, deceptive financial activities, and phishing networks targeting innocent citizens.
Government Measures to Tackle Cyber Fraud
As cyber fraud cases rise, authorities are implementing stricter security measures. The government has introduced the Chakshu Portal on the Sanchar Saathi website to curb online financial scams. Additionally, citizens can report cyber fraud through the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930) or via www.cybercrime.gov.in. These initiatives aim to provide faster response times and better protection against digital threats.
STF Uttarakhand remains committed to fighting cyber criminals and strengthening digital security. Officials emphasize that Operation Prahar is just the beginning of an ongoing effort to make online transactions safer and prevent further cybercrime. The crackdown highlights the urgency of enhanced cybersecurity awareness and cooperation between law enforcement agencies.
With cyber threats evolving rapidly, initiatives like Operation Prahar reinforce the government’s dedication to securing India’s digital landscape.
