New vertical focuses on applied AI for governments and enterprises, offering secure, air-gapped deployments and full-stack capabilities, as Sarvam expands its footprint in high-stakes environments and accelerates innovation across India’s growing AI ecosystem.
Sarvam has announced the launch of a new business vertical, “Chanakya,” aimed at delivering applied artificial intelligence solutions for governments, enterprises, and other critical sectors. The move signals the company’s growing focus on building secure and reliable AI systems designed for real-world, high-impact use cases.
Focus on secure, high-stakes AI deployments
Chanakya is designed to operate in highly secure, air-gapped environments that are isolated from the internet, making it suitable for organisations handling sensitive data and mission-critical operations. The platform can analyse multiple forms of data, including text and images, while autonomously executing AI workflows with a strong emphasis on reliability and security. Sarvam said it has been developing full-stack AI capabilities over the past year to address complex challenges across large organisations and sectors of national importance.
The company also highlighted that the platform supports “dual-use” deployment, enabling applications across both enterprise environments and strategic domains such as defence and national security. This approach positions Chanakya as a flexible AI solution capable of meeting diverse operational requirements without relying on public cloud infrastructure.
Expanding AI capabilities and global presence
The launch comes as Sarvam continues to expand its AI portfolio and strengthen its presence in the enterprise segment. At the Indian AI Impact Summit 2026, the company introduced its large language models, Sarvam-30B and Sarvam-105B, designed to support 22 Indian languages and compete with global AI offerings. It also showcased innovations such as AI-powered smartglasses and its AI-first application “Indus,” highlighting its broader product ecosystem.
In addition to domestic growth, Sarvam has also joined Nvidia Nemotron Coalition, a global initiative led by NVIDIA to build next-generation open foundation models. The move underscores the startup’s ambitions to play a larger role in shaping the future of sovereign and open AI technologies.
