
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the appointment of Sriram Santhanam as Head of Startup Business for India, underscoring the company’s ongoing commitment to empowering the country’s rapidly expanding startup ecosystem.
In his new role, Sriram will spearhead AWS’s startup strategy across India, focusing on enabling innovation, accelerating cloud adoption, and deepening collaboration with founders, investors, and venture-backed companies. He will also guide startups on architectural best practices, go-to-market acceleration, and commercial scaling, helping early-stage ventures evolve into sustainable, high-impact businesses.
With more than 25 years of experience in B2B sales leadership, Sriram brings a wealth of cross-industry expertise. Over the last four years at AWS, he has successfully led the expansion of the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) segment, managing one of the company’s largest portfolios and driving growth across both horizontal and vertical SaaS solutions. His deep understanding of cloud transformation and software innovation will be central to AWS’s continued efforts to strengthen startup engagement in India.
India currently boasts one of the world’s most vibrant startup ecosystems, with over 157,000 DPIIT-recognized startups and 123 unicorns spanning diverse sectors.
