In an exciting development for gaming enthusiasts and car owners alike, Microsoft and LG have joined forces to bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to connected vehicles. This partnership will enable users to stream their favorite Xbox games directly in cars equipped with LG’s Automotive Content Platform (ACP), offering seamless entertainment during long drives or while charging electric vehicles.
The Xbox app, designed for in-car screens, will be available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, allowing access to cloud versions of popular Xbox titles. This integration is set to transform how users enjoy games on the move, providing more options for mobile entertainment, gaming in EVs, and connected car experiences.
LG’s ACP, powered by the webOS platform, is already present in Kia’s EV3 in Europe and will soon expand to models such as EV4, EV5, and the new Sportage. The platform, also featured on smart TVs, supports popular streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus, and YouTube, making it a hub for entertainment both on and off the road.
This move follows Microsoft’s earlier collaboration with LG to bring the Xbox app to smart TVs. The partnership is part of Xbox’s broader strategy to expand its reach across devices, including mobile gaming, smart TVs, PCs, and now connected vehicles. “We’re giving players more choice than ever in how they enjoy their games,” says Christopher Lee, Xbox’s VP of marketing.
Additionally, Microsoft is set to return to the Tokyo Game Show, where Forza Horizon 6 may be announced, reinforcing its commitment to gaming innovation across platforms. With cloud gaming, EV entertainment, and next-gen connected cars, Microsoft and LG are reshaping the future of in-car experiences, blending AI-driven gaming, internet of things (IoT), and digital entertainment for users everywhere.
