Zupee, India’s top online gaming and entertainment company, has officially announced its entry into the eSports sector, aiming to revolutionize competitive gaming in India. With a user base exceeding 200 million registered users, Zupee is set to democratize access to eSports tournaments, leveraging its newly launched Zupee Studio to bring traditional Indian games like Ludo, Carrom, and Chess into global gaming formats.
Speaking at PlayCom 2025, Founder & CEO Dilsher Singh Malhi emphasized India’s potential to lead the global eSports ecosystem, backed by over 750 million internet users, a rich gaming heritage, and the Online Gaming Act 2025 recognizing eSports as a competitive sport. Malhi outlined Zupee’s three-pillar approach: transforming Indian-origin games into skill-based challenges, scaling access via affordable smartphone gaming, and assembling a world-class team of game developers, storytellers, and community managers.
Zupee’s strategy focuses on making mobile gaming the backbone of inclusive gaming experiences, especially for users without access to consoles or PCs. With fewer than 10 million consoles in the country but over 750 million smartphones, Zupee’s approach aims to reach a wider audience.
Zupee Studio will blend live tournament streaming, player storytelling, and localized broadcasting to create immersive experiences for Indian gamers. The platform will also drive job creation in shoutcasting, content creation, and gaming entertainment, while exploring emerging technologies like AI-assisted gameplay, AR, and VR.
Malhi invited gaming companies and stakeholders to collaborate, stating, “We welcome everyone working in the eSports space to build a safe, inclusive, and proudly Indian ecosystem. At Zupee, we are committed to building a long-term foundation for India’s eSports future—where we don’t just play to win but play to lead.”
With its focus on mobile-first gaming, AI-powered experiences, and cultural exports, Zupee is positioning itself as a pioneer in India’s growing eSports and gaming entertainment landscape.
