Acer unveils new Nitro 5 Series with Intel Core HX and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 and 50 GPUs

The new gaming laptops feature up to 165Hz displays, 32GB DDR5 memory, 2TB SSD storage and advanced cooling, targeting gamers, creators and students seeking high-performance computing for gaming, productivity and entertainment.

Acer has launched its new Nitro 5 Series in India, comprising the Nitro 5 and Nitro 5 Pro, aimed at gamers, students, creators and users seeking high-performance computing. The new laptops were unveiled at the Next@Acer India event held in Delhi on August 10.

The new lineup combines Intel Core 14th Gen HX processors with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series and RTX 50 Series Laptop GPUs, depending on the configuration. Acer has also equipped the machines with high-refresh-rate displays, enhanced thermal systems and its Nitro Control Centre for managing performance and system settings.

Both models feature a 16-inch Full HD+ display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering a resolution of 1920 × 1200 and refresh rates of up to 165Hz. The laptops can be configured with up to 32GB DDR5 5600MHz memory and 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD storage, positioning them for gaming as well as demanding productivity and creative workloads.

Nitro 5 offers multiple hardware configurations

The Nitro 5 is positioned as an everyday gaming laptop, with configurations available in Herald Grey and Black. The Herald Grey variant with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU comes with a 62Wh battery and Nahimic Audio, while the Black variant featuring an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU includes a 73Wh battery and Sound Blaster Studio+ audio.

The laptop can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series or RTX 50 Series Laptop graphics. Acer says the combination is designed to provide responsive gaming performance while supporting multitasking, streaming and content creation.

The Nitro 5 also supports 100% sRGB colour coverage, Intel Wi-Fi 6E and a range of connectivity options, including USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1 and RJ-45 Ethernet. Depending on the configuration, users get either a 62Wh or 73Wh battery paired with Nahimic Audio or Sound Blaster Studio+.

Nitro 5 Pro brings Blackwell-based RTX 50 Series

The Nitro 5 Pro takes the lineup further with configurations featuring NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 and RTX 5050 Laptop GPUs. The RTX 4050 version is offered in Herald Grey with a 62Wh battery and Nahimic Audio, while the RTX 5050 model comes in Black with a 73Wh battery and Sound Blaster Studio+.

The RTX 5050 configuration is based on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture and incorporates technologies such as DLSS 4, fifth-generation Tensor Cores, advanced ray tracing and NVIDIA Reflex 2. It also supports NVIDIA Studio features intended to accelerate creative workflows alongside gaming.

Acer has paired the Nitro 5 Pro with Intel Core 14th Gen HX processors and the same 16-inch 16:10 Full HD+ panel with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The company is positioning the model for users who want higher graphics performance and AI-enabled features for gaming and creative applications.

Dual-fan cooling and Nitro Control Centre

Acer has equipped both Nitro models with a dual-fan, dual-intake and dual-exhaust cooling architecture designed to maintain performance during extended gaming sessions and resource-intensive workloads.

The Nitro Control Centre gives users access to performance modes, fan controls and power settings, while a 4-zone RGB illuminated keyboard adds customisation options. The laptops also feature an HD webcam, Copilot key and multiple connectivity options.

The Nitro 5 Series will be available in Herald Grey and Black, although the GPU, battery and audio configurations vary across models and variants.

Price and availability

The Acer Nitro 5 and Nitro 5 Pro start at ₹167,990 and come with cashback benefits of up to ₹10,000. The laptops will be sold through Acer Exclusive Stores, Acer E-store, Amazon, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales.
