As per a latest update, it has been revealed that Managing Director of Lenovo, Amar Babu RK, will replace the current President of MAIT (Manufacturers’ Association for Information Technology) , J. V. Ramamurthy, whose term in MAIT is about to end this month.J. V. Ramamurthy is also the President an COO of HCL Infosystems.
Amar Babu is currently the Vice-President of this industry body. A formal announcement is expected to be made later this week.
According to MAIT, Amar Babu will take over the reins of the industry body at a time when the Indian IT hardware industry is facing several challenges, including the Compulsory Registration Order (CRO), which demands BIS certification of almost all the IT hardware products, the economic slowdown, the declining hardware market and the depreciating rupee.
