Amitabh Bachchan to skip the National Awards ceremony due to fever
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan aka senior AB has been honoured with the 50th Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, India's highest film honour, for the year 2019. However, due to ill health the actor has to unfortunately skip this year’s National Awards.
The 66th National Awards ceremony is being held in New Delhi today. The awards will be presented to the winners by Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu.
Big B took to Twitter to apologise to his fans. The megastar wrote, “Down with fever, not allowed to travel. Will not be allowed to attend the National Award tomorrow (December 23) in Delhi. So unfortunate, my regrets.”
The veteran actor, a few hours ago, took to Twitter again to share the news of him being honoured with the 50th Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
