Andhra CM lays foundation stone for Google data centre facility near Vizag worth $15 billion
N Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh laid the foundation stone for Google Artificial Intelligence data centre project near Visakhapatnam, worth $15 billion.
The data centre facility with 1GW capacity will mark a significant milestone in India’s digital infrastructure expansion and is expected to rank among the country’s largest AI data centres. It will deliver advanced AI cloud capabilities along with large-scale data storage, according to an earlier official statement.
The facility will be established across 600 acres in Tarluvada, Adavivaram and Rambilli villages, with other private partners, aiming to build a larger multi-gigawatt digital ecosystem in the state.
As part of its long-term strategy, the state government aims to develop a digital infrastructure ecosystem with a total capacity of around 6.5 GW, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a key data hub in India.
