AOC focusses on keeping the Partners Happy

3 min read0 views
Given the competition in the Indian market, AOC has adopted a strategy to engage the channel partners by offering various incentive schemes.

In order to aggressively grab higher channel volumes in the East market of India, the company has resorted to a focussed “PUSH” strategy which includes rewarding distribution channel with schemes, domestic and international holidays, free gifts, bundle discounts, etc. In the month of June 2009, AOC had organized a three-day holiday trip to Gangtok for 25 top partners from West Bengal, who had qualified AOC Scheme. Very interestingly, the company had included the family in the trip. The trip had witnessed outings, sightseeing, dancing, parting and celebrating of the channel partners along with the officials of AOC. Here, Saurabh Grover, the DGM Sales, AOC, had awarded the partners with certificates. At the gala night, all the partners were gifted LCD TVs to create a bond between the partners’ families and AOC.

Similarly, in the month of August 2009, AOC had rewarded its top partners with a four-day Bangkok trip. On this occasion, the Director of TPV, the parent company, had joined with the partners for this trip to give them confidence.
Not very long, in the early August, AOC had also celebrated its fourth year anniversary of India operations, which was coupled with a dealers meet in Cochin. The event was attended by more than 130 AOC partners, including Dharmesh Patel from Compuage, AOC’s distributor for South India, and three Gold Partners of AOC from Kerala – Aldous, Novo and Noveon. Along with this, the officials like Saurabh Grover, DGM – Sales and Marketing, AOC India, and Amit Kulkarni, Regional Sales Head, South India, AOC India, had also addressed the gathering.

AOC took this opportunity to showcase and talk about its success during these last four years. What attracted the visitors’ attention was the AOC’s top-of-the-line product range with more than 20 different LCD monitors varying from 15.6” to 26”.
AOC also launched its latest AOC LCD TV range by the name “MUVIC”. AOC plans to launch these TVs during HII’09. The first consignment is already out in the market.

There was a very elaborate presentation by AOC talking about its strong support line of being the brand of the world’s largest monitor manufacturer. TPV technology group holds 2% of the world’s monitor market share, having produced 44.7 million monitors in 2008.
TPV India, the Indian counterpart, is far ahead with a market share above 30% in India, having sold 2.2 Million monitors in India in 2008.

Since its inception in 2005, AOC is now the No. 3 brand in India, having retained its position since Q4’08. As per IDC Q1’ 09 report, AOC had 19% market share and was just 4.5k units short of the No. 2 player Samsung.
AOC plans to retain No. 3 position but with an increased market share of over 21%. AOC aims to consolidate No. 2 position by the end of 2009.

AOC has been aggressively consolidating its sales volume and market share by constantly improving its distribution network, costing and pricing structure and increasing its infrastructure of sales and service set-up in India. AOC currently had a network of dealers of more than 2,500 partners across India.

AOC also announced its special schemes for the channel for the coming festive season with free gifts like TVs, microwaves, mobiles, etc. on different slabs.

The objective of AOC is to focus really hard on building a very close-knit and strong distribution channel with its continuous rewards programme.
