Record iPhone upgrades and revenue highs for Mac and Services marked Apple’s September quarter in India, while the launch of Apple Pay with Axis Bank added another offering to its expanding business in the country.
Apple reported its highest revenue in India during the September quarter of fiscal 2026, with record performances in Mac and Services accompanying an increase in customers upgrading their iPhones.
Chief Executive Officer John Ternus said India delivered an all-time revenue high as Apple posted September-quarter records across several major regions. The company’s results included quarterly revenue records in developed and emerging markets, alongside gains in the US, Europe, Greater China and the rest of Asia-Pacific.
Apple did not disclose its revenue from India or a country-specific growth rate. Its commentary nevertheless placed India among the markets contributing records across multiple parts of the business, extending beyond smartphone sales to computers and digital services.
iPhone upgrades reach quarterly high
Globally, iPhone revenue rose 17 per cent year on year to $57.6 billion in the September quarter, despite supply constraints and adverse foreign exchange movements. Ternus said the US and Greater China recorded strong double-digit growth.
India joined the US and mainland China in registering a September-quarter record for iPhone upgraders. Apple reported a quarterly high for upgrades worldwide, contributing to its strongest fiscal year for customers moving to newer iPhone models.
Chief Financial Officer Kevan Parekh said the active iPhone installed base reached a record globally. He added that the device recorded its best year for upgrades in several markets, including India and Japan.
Citing Worldpanel research, Parekh said the iPhone was among the top-selling smartphone models in India. Other markets identified in the survey included the US, urban China, the UK, Germany, Australia and Japan.
Mac and services set records
Apple’s Mac business achieved its highest revenue in India during the quarter, while global Mac sales increased 24 per cent year on year to $10.8 billion. Parekh attributed the worldwide performance to demand for the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro, despite supply limitations.
Mac revenue grew at double-digit rates across developed and emerging markets, with India and Southeast Asia recording all-time highs. Parekh said emerging markets delivered their strongest fiscal year for Mac, supported by record upgrades and customers purchasing their first Apple computer.
Services also generated record revenue in India. Worldwide, the segment’s revenue climbed 10 per cent to $31.6 billion, reaching an all-time high, with records across most markets tracked by Apple, including India and Latin America.
The division covers the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, Apple TV and payment services. Parekh said Apple had more than 1.5 billion paid subscriptions globally, while the number of transacting accounts and paid accounts also reached new highs.
Ternus highlighted the introduction of Apple Pay in India through a partnership with Axis Bank. The launch adds payments to the company’s local offerings alongside devices, applications, cloud storage and entertainment subscriptions, as Apple expands the range of services available to Indian customers.
