Aruba MDAC Solution facilitates Cisco Wi-Fi Networks

Aruba Networks has announced the availability of its Mobile Device Access Control (MDAC) solution for Cisco Wi-Fi installations. With Aruba MDAC, Cisco Wi-Fi customers can enable "bring-your-own-device" (BYOD) services including device-specific policy enforcement, device visibility and device self-registration.  Providing easy, secure network access to facilitate workers bringing their own devices to work, known as the "BYOD phenomenon", is one of the most significant IT pain points. Aruba MDAC is designed to enable secure and managed network access, including automated provisioning for smartphones and tablets, which will now also be available for Cisco Wi-Fi networks.

The Aruba MDAC solution for Cisco Wi-Fi networks applies to both lightweight as well as autonomous access technology, and is Cisco hardware-independent. With Aruba MDAC, an Aruba Mobility Controller deployed alongside a Cisco Wi-Fi network utilizes Device Fingerprinting technology to control network access and bandwidth for smartphones and tablets. Centralized Aruba Amigopod Access Management can be used to automate provisioning of employee-owned devices via secure web authentication and delivery of EAP-TLS end-user device certificates. The Aruba MDAC solution also provides visibility into the number and types of mobile devices on the Cisco Wi-Fi network to ease troubleshooting and network capacity planning.

IT organizations deploying only specific components of the Aruba MOVE architecture, such as the MDAC solution, as an overlay to existing access networks can use the same solution elements to enable additional services such as high-performance Wi-Fi access, while Rightsizing for Mobility.
