Asus has launched its first Windows-powered handheld gaming console globally. The handheld console comes with a powerful processor and graphics card and allows users to run PC games in a compact form factor.
However, several reports are claiming that the handheld has some thermal issues and it is breaking the microSD card for some users.
Asus has now officially confirmed the thermal issue with Ally handheld. Asus spokesperson Whitson Gordon has confirmed this while also revealing that the company is working on a fix and the issue will be addressed.
While it is one of the few gaming consoles available in the market, it has a flaw. It looks like the company has restricted the thermal management of the devices in order to keep the noise levels in check. But the fix that is about to be implemented may increase the noise level of the device.
“After confirmation from internal testing, under certain thermal stress conditions the SD card reader may malfunction,” said Gordon in the statement.
