The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is developing Sahaaya Plus, a unified grievance redressal platform that will bring together civic complaints from multiple channels, including social media, into a single dashboard to improve accountability and accelerate issue resolution.
The initiative is being developed under the direction of Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who has also rolled out a centralized grievance management system at the state level to track and monitor complaints across government departments.
Officials said the new platform will introduce a range of citizen-friendly features, allowing residents to register civic complaints digitally while enabling senior officials to track their progress in real time.
The proposal was approved by Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda last month. Officials said the minister emphasised the need for a digital grievance registration system, noting that manually filed complaints are difficult to monitor and often lack effective follow-up.
Munish Moudgil, Special Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), said Sahaaya Plus will itegrate complaints received through multiple channels into a single dashboard and provide citizens with regular updates on the status of their grievances.
He added that the authority plans to integrate major civic agencies including the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) into the platform to strengthen inter-agency coordination and improve service delivery.
The initiative comes amid growing criticism of the existing Sahaaya 2.0 platform, with many residents alleging that complaints are often marked as resolved without the underlying issues being addressed, particularly after Bengaluru's administrative restructuring under the Greater Bengaluru Authority.
Citizens have also pointed to confusion over jurisdiction among the newly formed civic corporations, which they claim has delayed the resolution of public grievances.
The GBA hopes that the new digital platform will ensure greater transparency, improve coordination between departments and provide Bengaluru residents with a more efficient mechanism for resolving civic issues.
