Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO) announced an expansion of its long-standing partnership with NEC Corporation (TSE: 6701) to accelerate modern private cloud adoption through VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). Leveraging NEC’s deep expertise from implementing VCF within its own IT systems, the collaboration aims to help enterprises modernize their private cloud environments with enhanced security, efficiency, and innovation capabilities.
VCF is the industry’s first fully integrated cloud platform designed to deliver a modern private cloud with the agility of public cloud and the security, performance, and lower TCO associated with private environments. It enables consistent operation across traditional, modern, and AI-driven applications. Notably, nine of the top 10 Fortune 500 companies currently deploy VCF.
Broadcom and NEC share a partnership spanning over two decades. As part of NEC’s “Client Zero” strategy, the company is embedding VCF into its internal systems to gain deeper technical insights and strengthen its ability to deliver high-quality VCF-based solutions. NEC will apply this expertise to its BluStellar Scenario value creation model and continue offering VCF as a managed service, including its new NEC Private Cloud Infrastructure powered by VMware, launched in October 2025.
Norihiko Kimura, Corporate Executive Vice President at NEC, said the expanded partnership will enhance NEC’s ability to support digital transformation across industries, driven by VCF expertise accumulated through years of collaboration and internal adoption.
Hikaru Yamauchi, Japan Country Manager, VMware K.K., emphasized that VCF provides a unified, simplified model for private cloud modernization—helping customers accelerate innovation, reduce operational complexity, and meet sovereignty and security requirements.
