Canva has announced a sweeping AI-driven upgrade to its design platform, debuting a proprietary in-house AI modelcapable of understanding complex design layers and formats. The new model allows users to generate fully editable visuals—from social posts and presentations to websites—directly from text prompts, offering deeper customization than traditional diffusion-based systems.
The platform’s AI assistant is now available across all Canva tools, capable of generating 3D objects, replicating art styles, and responding intelligently to tagged comments to streamline team collaboration. Canva has also linked its spreadsheet capabilities to its app-making tools, enabling users to transform raw data into interactive visualization widgets seamlessly.
Key additions include new form tools for data collection, upgraded email design features, and Canva Grow, a unified AI marketing suite for asset creation and campaign analytics. In a major move for professional designers, Affinity, the suite Canva acquired last year, will now be offered free of charge, integrating its vector, pixel, and layout tools into Canva’s ecosystem for a smoother, cross-platform workflow.
With these advancements, Canva is positioning itself as a serious challenger to traditional design software giants—elevating the standard for AI-powered creativity, collaboration, and business productivity.
