The veteran actor was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Monday, sparking concern among fans. Daughter Esha Deol confirmed he is stable and recovering, as Bollywood stars and family members visited to express support.
Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, aged 88, was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Monday (November 10), prompting an outpouring of concern from fans and colleagues across the industry. His daughter, actress Esha Deol, reassured well-wishers today morning through a social media post that the veteran actor is stable and recovering under medical supervision.
Several family members, including his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol, daughter-in-law Tanya Deol, and grandsons Rajveer and Karan Deol, were seen at the hospital. Prominent Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel also visited to check on the actor’s health and extend their wishes for his speedy recovery.
Official statement denies rumours
Amid unverified reports circulating on social media, a spokesperson for Dharmendra’s son, actor and BJP MP Sunny Deol, denied speculation that the Sholay star had been placed on a ventilator.
“Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further updates will be shared as available. We urge everyone to refrain from spreading false rumours and to respect the family’s privacy,” the official statement read. The spokesperson also thanked fans and the film fraternity for their prayers and continued support.
Film community shows solidarity
A towering figure in Indian cinema, Dharmendra has delivered countless memorable performances in classics such as Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Pratiggya, and Sholay. Fondly called the ‘He-Man’ of Bollywood, his enduring charm and versatility continue to inspire generations of actors and fans alike.
In a gesture of respect and sensitivity, Jio Studios postponed the trailer launch of Dhurandhar, which was scheduled for Tuesday. “As a mark of respect to the victims of the Delhi blasts and in light of Shri Dharmendra ji’s health, the trailer launch stands postponed,” the studio’s official statement said.
Director Nikhil Dwivedi, along with actors Bobby and Abhay Deol, were later seen visiting Dharmendra’s Juhu residence, as family and close friends continue to stand by the veteran actor during his recovery.
