Delhi Public School (DPS) has announced that its 5,000 students and faculty members will begin using Microsoft's Live@Edu, an online communication and collaboration offering. With this, students will be able to interact with each other and teachers, or access and share course material "anytime, anywhere". All students and teachers will also have personalized ids with "@dps.live.com" as the suffix.
"Delhi Public School has always provided the best education facilities to students and we believe that technology-aided education delivers high results for students and enhances the overall education experience. Microsoft with its Live@edu offering opens up new possibilities for our students to communicate and collaborate online - both with their classmates and with teachers, and therefore derive more from the school experience," said M. I. Hussain, Principal, Delhi Public School, New Delhi.
Microsoft will regularly update and add to Live@edu services to help schools continually expand the set of services offered to students and alumni. Students will be using Microsoft products similar to those used in many workplaces, helping to prepare them for jobs after college.
"DPS is taking the initiative to stay ahead of the education curve and provide an enabling environment for its students. With Live@edu, students in India will be exposed to technology-enhanced educational environments, with a new ability to participate in online tutorials, collaborate on assignments, discuss ideas with faculty, and build lifelong relationships with their educational institution. Microsoft technology is simple and easy to use, and we are proud to be part of the technology revolution in Indian Education," said Tarun Malik, Director - Marketing & Strategy, Microsoft India.
