Netflix has announced it will launch a newly reimagined FIFA football simulation game in summer 2026, allowing fans to play alongside the world’s biggest football tournament. The game will be available to Netflix subscribers at no additional cost and playable on mobile devices, with select TV availability in certain markets.
The move marks FIFA’s first major gaming collaboration since its long-standing partnership with Electronic Arts ended in 2023, following disagreements over licensing fees. EA subsequently rebranded its popular football franchise as EA Sports FC.
Developed and published by Delphi Interactive, the new FIFA game is designed to be accessible and fast-paced, catering to both casual players and competitive fans. According to Netflix, users will be able to play solo or online with friends, requiring only a Netflix subscription and a smartphone.
“The FIFA World Cup is going to be the cultural event of 2026, and now fans will be able to celebrate their fandom by bringing the game right into their living rooms,” said Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix. “We want to bring football back to its roots with something everyone can play with just the touch of a button.”
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the partnership as a milestone in the organisation’s digital strategy. “This major collaboration is a key step in FIFA’s commitment to innovation in the football gaming space,” he said, adding that the game aims to reach billions of football fans globally and redefine the football simulation genre.
Delphi Interactive Founder and CEO Casper Daugaard, said the studio was honoured to work on the franchise. “Our mission is simple: make the FIFA game the most fun, approachable and global football game ever created”.
Andy Kleinman, President of Delphi Interactive, added that the collaboration with FIFA and Netflix aims to create a game that “anyone, anywhere, can pick up and instantly feel the magic of football.” The game will initially launch on select TVs in certain countries, with a broader rollout planned over time.
