Forcepoint believes cybersecurity should understand human behaviour and intent

Vinny Sharma, Regional Marketing Manager, Forcepoint

If you look at the cybersecurity scenario today, the industry has placed too much emphasis on attempting to lock down technology infrastructure, which is in a constant state of change. The IT industry has found itself in a cycle of developing products that simply can’t keep pace with the emergence of new threats.

“To address this,” says Vinny Sharma, Regional Marketing Manager, Forcepoint, “Forcepoint has completely changed the paradigm from threat-centric security to understanding our users, their behaviour and intent. Forcepoint is reinventing cybersecurity by creating ‘Human Point’ systems that enable customers to understand the rhythm of their people and the flow of their data.”

He further added, “We introduced a campaign called, ‘Protecting the Human Point’, earlier this year. The campaign built on Forcepoint’s original research, which showed the critical role of understanding human behaviour and intent in transforming cybersecurity for enterprises and government. It emphasizes that only a human-centric security approach can assess cyber intent and adapt protection for an organization’s employees, critical business data and IP.”

“Protecting the human point” is a reflection of what Forcepoint stands for and where it needs to focus its attention on. The campaign conveys Forcepoint’s human-centric view of cyber, and its vision: to stop the bad and free the good. Forcepoint believes that Cybersecurity must move from a technology-centric view to one that understands human behaviour and intent and employs systems that can effectively do the same. Its strategy is to help customers rethink cybersecurity by focussing on the human point, i.e. the way people interact with critical business data and intellectual property. With its new businesses in place, Forcepoint will quickly deliver innovation around these human points of interaction. This approach will deliver the level of capabilities our customers need in the future.
