In line with its continuous efforts to strengthen relationships with channel partners and promote their business growth, GIGABYTE Technology India Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of motherboards, held its Annual Conference for partners, in Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata recently. The conference was attended by over 400 partners, who got an opportunity to interact with GIGABYTE's top management team that included Tim Handley, Deputy Director - Motherboard Marketing; Alan Chen, Deputy Divisional Director -Asia Sales Division; Alva Liu, Account Manager - Asia-Pacific, as well as Sunil Grewal, Sales Head - India.
The conference broadly focussed on sharing with partners GIGABYTE's latest motherboard technologies, overview of upcoming products, and new sales and marketing strategy. It was also used as an apt platform to acknowledge and reward partners, who had contributed outstandingly to the success of the GIGBAYTE motherboard business in the past year.
During his elaborate presentation on GIGABYTE's innovative motherboard technologies, Tim Handley updated the attendees on the company's newest quality and feature enhancement initiatives, such as Intel Smart Response Technology that caches frequently-used applications to improve system performance and responsiveness; LucidLogix Virtu GPU Virtualization technology; Driver MOSFETs, enabling optimum power delivery and more stable voltage; and TouchBIOS, the first-of-its-kind icon-based navigation on-screen touch-based feature for controlling and modifying BIOS settings. The focus was on GIGABYTE's newly-launched Intel Z68 Express chipset-based motherboards that come with all the aforementioned features. GIGABYTE has transitioned to the Z68 chipset before its competitors, giving a very clear advantage against P67 motherboards that are selling at similar price points. Incidentally, GIGABYTE is launching over twenty Z68 motherboard models that are more than all its competitors, put together.
Handley also gave an overview of GIGABYTE's 2011 Select Motherboard features that include Lower RDS(on) MOSFETs, Ferrite Core Chokes, 4 or more Power Phase design, 50,000-hour Japanese Solid Capacitors, DualBIOS with 3TB+HDD support, 108dB Signal-to-Noise Radio playback, and 3x USB Power.
Meanwhile, Sunil Grewal elaborated on GIGABYTE's three-point strategic focus for the Indian marketplace, namely augmenting after-sales support, creating an IT knowledge community, and product innovation.
Grewal spoke at length about GIGABYTE's new agreement with its service partner, Accel Frontline, effective March 1, 2011, to have GIGABYTE Exclusive Service Centres, managed by Accel Frontline. Such exclusive centres have already been opened in Mumbai and Bengaluru, where GIGABYTE has made huge investment in the form of manpower (eight engineers) brought in from Taiwan and China, CNC machines, branding, etc. More such GIGABYTE Exclusive Service Centres will be opened in Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Kochi within three months, wherein GIGABYTE will bring in about six engineers to support the existing manpower in these locations. The endeavour is to bring down the average Turn Around Time (TAT) to three days, anywhere in India.
Through Accel Frontline, GIGABYTE presently has about 81 collection points in 79 cities, and is in the process of setting up over 60 more collection points through Premier Partners. The company intends to cover over 100 cities through these initiatives.
"The second strategic focus area for 2011 is creating an IT knowledge community through regular System Integrator (SI) and college events. This is an ongoing process for GIGABYTE which has a commitment to conduct over 30 SI meets and 10 college events per quarter," stated Grewal.
Thirdly, product innovation has been always a major focus area for GIGABYTE, and since 2006 the company has been setting and patenting multiple quality standards every year, such as 24 Phase Power VRM, 2oz Copper PCB, Dynamic Phase Power Switching Energy Saving Technology, All Solid Capacitor, and TouchBIOS, to name a few.
Commenting on the success of the three-city conference, Sunil Grewal said, "The conference allowed us to effectively communicate our new plans for the Indian market, which is witnessing over 35% YoY growth, and our commitment to channel partners who have played a significant role in making the GIGABYTE brand what it is today."
The conference turned out to be a big hit among GIGABYTE channel partners, who flocked in large numbers to be a part of the event at each location. Ved Prakash of Delhi-based AVS Informatics, a GIGABYTE Premier Partner, said, "The event gave us complete and vital information needed to be successful in today's competitive motherboard market. Interaction with GIGABYTE's senior management team also assured us of the company's commitment and support for partners like me." Ravikant Gupta of Comhard Technologies and Sushil Kumar of Altech Technologies, both Delhi-based GIGABYTE Premier Partners, opined that getting specific information about GIGABYTE's product and service roadmap directly from the company's top management will definitely help partners enhance GIGABYTE motherboard business in the coming months.
