Google invites 8,000 People for "Google Glass" Trial

In order to foster innovation amongst its users, Google has recently announced a new product “Google Glass”. With a latest update, Google has now selected 8,000 people including celebrities and technical experts to test the new “wearable computer” Glasses.

People who wanted to become “Glass Explorers” were selected in February after they have submitted the reasons of why they should use this Google glass in 50 words via Google and Twitter.

They were also asked to pay 1,500 dollars and collect their Glass frames from Los Angeles, San Francisco or New York.

These wearable computers use Google's Android OS and can display information in a smartphone-like format. They are hands-free and can interact with the internet using natural language voice commands.

The names of around 4,000 people accepted by Google via Twitter have been collated and posted online by stanford computer science PhD student Andrej Karpathy.
