In a major boost to India’s digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystem, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that global tech giant Google will invest ₹88,000 crore over the next three years in the state. The investment will focus on building advanced data centres and Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects in Visakhapatnam, marking a monumental step for the region's tech-led development.
Naidu described the investment as the “single largest investment since India’s economic liberalisation”, calling it a “gamechanger” not just for Andhra Pradesh, but for the entire country. He added that the project is expected to generate thousands of high-skill jobs, significantly improve digital connectivity, and make the state a leading hub for data and AI innovation in South Asia.
The move aligns with the state government’s vision to position Andhra Pradesh as a technology-first economy, attracting global investments in cloud computing, green energy-powered data centres, and next-generation AI applications.
Google’s investment also signals strong international investor confidence in India’s digital growth story and highlights Visakhapatnam’s strategic advantage as a coastal tech corridor. Further details on the project timelines, locations, and partnerships are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
