Gunnebo Security Group has announced its plans to establish Global R&D Centre in India. The new R&D centre will develop products and solutions for India as well as international market. Keeping innovation as a cornerstone for development, the global R&D centre will be set up at Halol, Gujarat.

Gunnebo will also increase investments in its Halol plant by Rs.30 crore (over Euros 3 million).  The capacity extension will be utilized towards enhancing existing production capacity of traditional physical security products but will also be extended to the special ATM-line. The launch of the new R&D centre will provide ample opportunities to India’s unmatched engineering talent as well as substantially reduce speed to market for introducing newer innovative solutions.

Announcing these key developments, Per Borgvall, President & CEO, Gunnebo Group, said, “As part of our strategic initiative, we plan to set up an R&D centre in India to get closer to the market and have growth markets in Asia like India in focus. We also want to make investments in the Indian market since we see a very interesting development and growth for the coming years within our core businesses. It is important for us to grow our presence and capacity to supply products locally”.

Gunnebo’s Halol manufacturing facility is one of the largest among top three manufacturing facilities worldwide in terms of size.  Since 2010, the unit has had an annual conglomerated growth rate of more than 30 per cent (number of products produced per day).  With this strategy, Gunnebo aims to consolidate its presence in India as well as create an export market to fuel the growing demand from the global arena.
