iCoreTech has announced the release of the version 2.1 of its AudioBox cloud-based media platform AudioBox.fm. This new version is another big technological step forward for one of the most advanced cloud applications on the market, to allow users to store and manage media files in the cloud, and stream through a web browser or compatible device.
Â
Conjunctly with the AudioBox 2.1 release, iCoreTech moved the processing servers to the new state-of-the-art Digital Ocean infrastructure, adding multi-core/multi-processor and SSD power to the platform, with vertical/horizontal scalability and server redundancy that will allow to seamlessly manage millions of concurrent users.
Â
The updated HTML 5 Cloud Web Player, which provides a rich, highly user-friendly interface for streaming and managing media files from web browsers, with little to no between-file latency, is now able to render large playlists in a fraction of the time. Also, great improvements were made on stream response time when streaming both from external services or using the AudioBox Desktop application and local files.
Â
“The newly redesigned, Retina-ready responsive Cloud Web Player, and website, is the reflection of how much attention we are giving to user feedback. And moving to a much more powerful server infrastructure was key for AudioBox, especially now that between the iPhone app and the new B2B partners, we are experiencing a very fast growth in users”, said iCoreTech COO Simone Tarantino ”.
