2025-09-19
In a landmark step towards bridging India’s digital divide, India Post and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand mobile connectivity and digital services across the country.
Under the agreement, more than 1.65 lakh post offices will now serve as Points of Sale (PoS) for BSNL SIM cards and mobile recharge services, making telecom access more convenient, especially in rural and remote regions where connectivity remains limited.
A successful pilot project in Assam has already demonstrated the initiative’s potential for a nationwide rollout.
