
R Srikanth, the Head of corporate finance at finance company Infibeam, and his wife were allegedly murdered by their driver in Mylapore in Chennai. Srikanth and his wife Anuradha had just returned to India after visiting their daughter in the United States.
Their driver Krishna, picked them up from the airport. Through the driver’s call details and FastTag messages, the cops found that he was driving along the Chennai-Kolkata highway, and arrested him when he reached Ongole in Andhra Pradesh.
The driver confessed to having killed the couple, stolen their valuables and buried their bodies in a farmhouse. Krishnan believed the couple reportedly had Rs 40 crore cash at their house from a recent real estate deal and had planned to rob it. Police have exhumed the bodies for post mortem and forensic examination.
Dr Kannan, a senior officer in Chennai police, said, “We have secured key evidence including the CCTV recorder which the accused had taken away. We have a strong case for conviction.”
