Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Bhopal and Applied Materials, Inc. have announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) focused on developing a skilled workforce to support India’s rapidly expanding semiconductor ecosystem.
As part of the MOU, Applied Materials plans to support students on their projects, exchange technical knowledge, and assist with scholarships. Experts from Applied will conduct workshops and lectures on the campus to help engineering students understand the latest technology.
In addition, to help needy students, Applied Materials will provide scholarships based on considerations such as academic performance, socio-economic background and diversity. Applied Materials will also award deserving students from MANIT-Bhopal up to Rs 50,000 each for qualified academic projects.
“This understanding with Applied Materials has opened a new chapter in the history of MANIT for greater industry-academia collaboration in enhancing the technical skills of the students. This relationship can provide students with a better understanding of the semiconductor industry and offer them an edge when competing for future opportunities in this market,” said Dr. Appu Kuttan, Director, MANIT.
