Retimers and redrivers are crucial for preserving signal integrity in high-speed data transmission, serving essential roles in enterprise storage, AI servers, data centers, automotive electronics, and consumer computing, while MiPhi’s solutions meet India’s growing demand for advanced connectivity
MiPhi Semiconductors, a strategic joint venture between Micromax Informatics and Phison Electronics, has announced the launch of its latest range of retimers and redrivers, marking a significant expansion of its high-performance semiconductor portfolio.
Designed to deliver faster, smarter, and more reliable data transmission, MiPhi’s new products offer ultra-low latency performance of under 5 nanoseconds and are pin-to-pin compatible, ensuring greater design flexibility for system integrators. Notably, the newly introduced redriver is the first PCIe Gen5 certified product by PCI-SIG, while the retimer is the first solution compliant with the CXL 2.0 standard to earn PCI-SIG certification. These certifications reinforce MiPhi’s leadership in advancing India’s digital ecosystem through a blend of indigenous innovation and global technology.
Retimers and redrivers play a vital role in maintaining signal integrity in high-speed data transmission, making them essential components in enterprise storage, AI servers, data centers, automotive electronics, and consumer computing applications. As India rapidly digitizes, MiPhi’s advanced solutions address the growing demand for next-generation connectivity with superior performance and reliability.
Accelerating India’s high-speed innovation
Prasad Balakrishnan, CEO of MiPhi Semiconductors, emphasized the strategic importance of this product launch. “India’s demand for high-speed, high-integrity signal solutions is accelerating due to growth in data-intensive sectors like computing, storage, and connectivity. Our expanded portfolio of Retimers and Redrivers is engineered to optimize signal quality, reduce latency, and enable the development of faster, more reliable systems,” he said. Balakrishnan added that leveraging Micromax’s market insights and Phison’s global R&D capabilities positions MiPhi to meet international performance standards tailored to India’s unique infrastructure needs.
The new components support the latest industry standards including PCIe Gen 5/6, USB4, and CXL, enhancing signal quality over long trace lengths and cables. While redrivers amplify and equalize signals to reduce losses, retimers offer advanced re-clocking and signal regeneration, critical for maintaining data integrity in complex architectures.
This product launch is part of MiPhi’s broader vision to empower India’s electronics ecosystem with scalable, future-ready solutions. The company continues to build on the collaborative strengths of Micromax and Phison, combining localized innovation with cutting-edge technology. Recently, MiPhi also announced local manufacturing of Enterprise SSDs, becoming the first Indian company to achieve this milestone, further cementing its role in shaping India’s semiconductor future.
