Mohandas Pai resigned from Infosys' director in-charge, Human Resource and Administration. He had been considering resigning for the last one-year. Pai had been with Infosys in a finance role as chief financial officer since 1994, and later took responsibility for the critical functions of human resources and education.
After Nanadan Nikelani's resignation, Pai's resignation is the second biggest exit of a senior member from the company. Add to this K Dinesh, one of the founder members and a member of the board has chosen to retire. "I think new people should takeover leadership of Infy," said, Mohandas Pai "I feel sad about leaving Infosys but need to take up new opportunities." He further added.
"We all know that he is taking this painful decision, since he has much bigger projects in the horizon-nation building," said, NR Narayana Murthy, Chairman and Chief Mentor of the company.
Infosys' board of directors will meet on April 30 to finalise plans for the company's leadership as chairman NR Narayan Murthy retires in August 2011. Pai said that the company needs a fresh skilled set to lead the next phase of growth.
