NEC Corporation has concluded a contract to acquire Cyber Defense Institute, Inc. (CDI). NEC is scheduled to complete 100% acquisition of interest in CDI on March 1, 2013.
CDI specializes in diagnosis and training services in the security area. The company’s engineers provide expertise covering a wide range of fields in alignment with international companies. This acquisition enables NEC to provide comprehensive cyber security solutions throughout global markets, including consultation, system implementation and operations.
“In recent years, well-coordinated cyber-attacks against specific organizations or individuals are on the rise, and there is a growing concern about the loss of personal and confidential data,” said Hironori Takahashi, National Security Solutions Division, NEC Corporation.
Going forward, NEC will continue to enhance its cyber security business worldwide, including solutions for government offices and providers of critical infrastructure, such as electric power utilities, banking systems and communication networks.
