
London-based technology brand Nothing has announced that its latest smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3a) Series, is now being manufactured locally in India. This move reinforces Nothing’s commitment to leveraging India’s manufacturing ecosystem, boosting the local economy, and fostering technological innovation. The company’s factory in Chennai employs over 500 workers, 95% of whom are women, underscoring Nothing’s focus on job creation and local empowerment.
This announcement comes at a crucial time as Nothing experiences rapid growth in India. According to Counterpoint Research’s Monthly India Smartphone Tracker, the brand recorded an impressive 577% year-over-year growth in India’s smartphone market in 2024, driven by strong demand for the Phone (2a) Series and its sub-brand CMF by Nothing. Additionally, Nothing has surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue, achieving this milestone in just four yearssince its October 2020 launch.
Strengthening its commitment to Indian consumers, Nothing is expanding its after-sales service network. The company now operates five exclusive service centers in Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai, alongside five priority desks and 300 multi-brand service centers. Its retail presence has also expanded from 2,000 stores in early 2023 to 7,000 stores, further solidifying Nothing’s footprint in India’s smartphone market.
