Nothing’s Headphone (1) campaign features bold, personality-driven portraits that defy conventional tech aesthetics, with Jordan Hemingway’s raw, expressive style aligning perfectly with the brand’s vision to challenge traditional visual norms
London-based consumer technology brand Nothing has unveiled a creative collaboration with celebrated photographer and filmmaker Jordan Hemingway for the launch of its first over-ear headphones, Headphone (1). Known for his raw, cinematic aesthetic, Hemingway led the portrait-driven campaign and also developed a custom camera preset for Nothing smartphones, reinforcing the brand’s ethos of merging technology with culture and creativity.
Hemingway, a New Jersey native now based in London, is self-taught and widely recognized for his work with global fashion labels such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, Mugler, and Gucci. He is also a longtime creative partner of artist FKA Twigs, having co-directed her live shows and music videos, and crafted visual narratives across entire album rollouts.
Reflecting on the partnership, Hemingway said, “I first visited Nothing’s office a few years ago for a different project, and I was struck by their fearless innovation. To return now and contribute creatively is both exciting and an honour.”
The campaign for Headphone (1) features expressive portraits that spotlight personality and individuality, a deliberate contrast to typical tech marketing. “We were drawn to Jordan’s blend of honesty, beauty, and raw brutality,” said Ryan Latham, Senior Director of Brand & Creative (Global) at Nothing. “His style challenges traditional visual norms — something that aligns with how we wanted to represent Headphone (1).”
In addition to the campaign, Nothing will launch a professional camera preset titled “Stretch”, designed by Hemingway to bring his signature visual tone to users of Nothing smartphones. The preset will allow users to shoot in a cinematic style with ease.
This collaboration underscores Nothing’s ambition to carve out a space where innovation meets artistic expression — delivering tech products that are both functional and culturally resonant.
