OnePlus has unveiled OnePlus Pad Go 2, the latest mid-range tablet, designed to provide everything students and young professionals need at an affordable price. The tablet follows on from 2023's widely acclaimed OnePlus Pad Go and is available for open sale starting 18 December.
"The OnePlus Pad Go proved that mid-range priced tablets don't need to just have mid-range features, and the OnePlus Pad Go 2 takes this even further," said Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India. "With stylo support, an excellent display and a large battery, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 brings high quality to the mid-range and we're excited for our users to experience it."
Performance and power
The OnePlus Pad Go 2's high quality experience starts with its display, a 12.1 inch or 30.73 cm display that gives a seriously immersive viewing experience. Additionally, the display's 7:5 Read Fit aspect ratio and massive 88.5% screen-to-body ratio work together to deliver a comfortable experience whether you're viewing or writing, with no need to zoom in or out. The display also features 284 pixels per inch, 98% DCI-P3 colour coverage and 900 nits HBM brightness and supports Dolby Vision for amazing media playback.
Powering OnePlus Pad Go 2 is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra octa-core chipset, built on an advanced 4nm process, which means OnePlus Pad Go 2 delivers powerful and reliably smooth performance from day one all the way to four years away, as certified by TÜV SÜD Fluency testing. OnePlus Pad Go 2 also features a massive 10,050 mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOC charging which allows for up to 15 hours of video, 53 hours of music or a full 60 days of standby power. The battery is so large it even supports reverse cable charging, allowing you to send power from the tablet to a phone in an emergency.
Stylus and smoothness
OnePlus Pad Go 2 is the first member of the OnePlus Pad Go series to support a stylus, and OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo shares the same high quality ethos as the tablet. Sold separately, the Stylo delivers low latency, high sensitivity and fast charging with just ten minutes of charging from 0% battery giving the Stylo enough power for half a day's use.
When using the Stylo in the OnePlus Notes app, you can gain access to a range of handwriting features - such as the handwriting calculator and handwriting enhancement - that enable a smarter and smoother note‑taking experience. Moreover, when inspiration strikes, you can simply tap OnePlus Pad Go 2's screen with the Stylo when it's switched off to instantly open the Notes app.
OnePlus Pad Go 2 also takes smoothness to another level with OxygenOS 16, the latest version of OnePlus's beloved operating system, and includes a wide range of AI tools, including AI Writer, AI Recorder and AI Summary, perfect for helping you work smart and play harder. OxygenOS 16 also gives access to Open Canvas, widely seen as one of the best ways to multitask on a tablet, and easily switch between up to three windows effortlessly with two apps open and a third in a floating window.
Colourways and connectivity
OnePlus Pad Go 2 comes in two colourways. The first, Lavender Drift, uses subtle hints of lavender along with precision-etched grooves to give a continuously shifting tone as light hits the surface. The second colourway, Shadow Black, features an ultra-smooth matte finish which gives a modern, confident aesthetic that almost creates a subtle glow.
The Shadow Black variant of OnePlus Pad Go 2 is also the first OnePlus tablet to feature a SIM card tray, allowing it to connect to 5G networks and make calls, send messages and get online directly from the tablet. Alternatively, simply placing OnePlus Pad Go 2 near a OnePlus phone will enable the tablet to share the phone's data connection while using 30% less of your phone's battery than traditional hotspot sharing.
