The World Photography Organisation (WPO) has announced the Open Category winners in the 2012 Sony World Photography Awards. The comprehensive photography competition celebrates the best in photography from around the world, from the next generation of emerging photographers through to the established masters of the art. Sanket K from India won the award for Art and Culture category in the Open Competition which was held for anyone with an interest in photography and the photographers are judged on a single image.
The overall Open competition will be announced at the annual Sony World Photography Awards ceremony on 26th April at the Hilton Hotel in London's Park Lane and will be hosted by W.M Hunt, an esteemed photographic consultant and 2012 Chair of Judge. The awards will offer an eclectic mix of photographic events and will take place alongside World Photo, London. The opening weekend (27th -30th April 2012) will feature selected events such as portfolio reviews, workshops and symposiums, many led by the Honorary Judges for the 2012 Awards and other international industry experts.
