Safexpress Pvt. Ltd., India’s largest Supply Chain and Logistics Company, has launched its ultra-modern Logistics Park in Puducherry. This is the company’s third successful launch in the Southern region. It has earlier launched two state-of-the-art Logistics Parks at Chennai and Salem.
Speaking during the inaugural ceremony, Mr Vineet Kanaujia, General Manager – Marketing, Safexpress, said, “We are developing world-class warehousing at certain strategic locations across India. We are in the process of investing Rs.600 crore in beefing up our warehousing infrastructure across the country. Out of this Rs.600 crore, one-third of the investment will be done in the Southern region, given the scope of Supply Chain and Logistics industry in this belt.”
He further added that the company is looking at the idea of developing 5 million square feet of additional warehousing space across the country in the next couple of years, adding to its already existing warehousing space of 5 million square feet. After having established itself in the northern, western and eastern regions of the country, Safexpress is keen to strengthen its network in the Southern region as well.
A new Port is also being developed in this region along with a Special Economic Zone to give a fillip to the industrial development of this belt. Given its proximity to Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, Puducherry becomes an important Supply Chain hub and a strategic location.
