At the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung unveiled its first intelligent eyewear, marking the company's entry into the AI-powered smart glasses segment. The new wearable extends the Galaxy ecosystem beyond smartphones by offering hands-free access to AI features, navigation, communication tools and visual assistance. Built on Google's Android XR platform, it integrates Gemini AI to deliver context-aware assistance through voice, gestures and visual inputs.
Samsung says the device is designed for everyday use with a lightweight frame, multiple style options and all-day battery performance.
Samsung's intelligent eyewear combines AI capabilities with a conventional eyewear design. The glasses feature a built-in camera that allows Gemini AI to understand what the user is looking at and provide relevant assistance in real time. The wearable is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform, which has been optimized for compact AR devices.
The eyewear is claimed to offer up to nine hours of battery life on a single charge. The bundled charging case can provide up to seven additional full charges.
Users can interact with the device using voice commands and supported gesture controls. Samsung says the smart glasses can summarise long messages, read notifications aloud, translate conversations in real time and help users navigate without constantly checking a phone.
