1 min read0 views

Saraswat Infotech has introduced ALICE (Advanced Linux Internet Communication Environment), a communications gateway server that enables secure emailing, controlled and efficient internet access and allows multiple modes of connectivity. It incorporates a mail server with anti-virus, anti-spam, filtering and web mail modules, web server, firewall, proxy server, IPSEC VPN server and DHCP server.

Mr Manoj Kunkalienkar, CEO, Saraswat Infotech Limited, said: “ALICE can be ideally used by SMEs, banks, schools, government bodies, hotels, shipping and the service sector. Although it is effective for a 50-user configuration, it has been successfully been tested in a live set-up with over 11,000 email and proxy users. This, however, does not have any impact on cost as it is licensed on a per server basis and has no limitations on the number of users”.

ALICE is an Internet-based software solution that enables a secure and fully integrated office network which provides a benign environment that allows computers to talk across a network. This technology is compatible with various Operating Systems like Windows, Macintosh, Novell and various UNIX systems. Its user-friendly nature demands no additional training owing to which the software can be implemented overnight. All Internet browsers that support proxy servers can be used with ALICE, including Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, StarOffice and all UNIX console web browsers.
