The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced an opportunity for an experienced cybersecurity professional, with annual salary of up to ₹2.5 crore. The bank is inviting applications for the position of Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) till 24 September 2026.
The role is open to Indian citizens with extensive experience in information technology. Applications will remain open until 24 September 2026. The selected candidate is expected to lead SBI’s cybersecurity strategy, planning and security operations. The position is likely to be based in Mumbai or Navi Mumbai.
Applicants must have 15 to 20 years of experience in the information technology sector and should be 57 years old or younger as of 31 August 2026. The position is open only to Indian citizens.
Candidates must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree with at least 50% marks in subjects such as Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Technology. Degrees in Electronics, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Cyber Security, along with equivalent qualifications, are also accepted.
Candidates with an MCA can also apply. Alternatively, applicants may hold an M.Tech or M.Sc. in the specified disciplines or equivalent qualifications. Degrees must be recognized by institutions recognised by the Government of India or approved by relevant government regulators.
SBI will shortlist eligible candidates for an interview. The annual salary for the Group CISO role can go up to ₹2.5 crore, although the final package will depend on negotiations based on the selected candidate’s experience and profile.
