Seagate has announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its FreeAgent GoFlex family of external hard drives and the Momentus XT solid-state hybrid laptop hard drive. Products entered in this prestigious programme are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honour outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 35 product categories.

The GoFlex storage system includes easy, plug-and-play portable and desktop drives, with an array of interchangeable cables and desktop adapters that deliver ultimate flexibility in how people collect, protect, share and enjoy their digital memories. In addition to various cable adapters, GoFlex drives work with accessories such as the GoFlex Net media sharing device and the GoFlex TV HD media player, that provide the flexibility to enjoy your content on a TV, a network, using a mobile device, or via the Internet.

Each GoFlex drive includes technology that enables storage and access of files from both Windows and Mac computers. With capacities ranging from 320GB to 3TB, GoFlex ultra-portable and desktop drives group high-capacity, adaptability and ease-of-use with the entire backup and protection people have come to expect from Seagate.
