Snap employees to work 80% time from office
Snap Inc has asked its employees to work from its offices 80% of the time, starting from the end of February next year. The owner of Snapchat had reportedly asked employees to be in office four days a week from February.
A SNAP spokesperson said, “We believe that being together in person, while retaining flexibility for our team members, will enhance our ability to deliver on our strategic priorities of growing our community, driving revenue growth, and leading in [augmented reality]. After working remotely for so long we’re excited to get everyone back together next year with our new 80/20 hybrid model.”
It was earlier reported that Snap Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Evan Spiegel wrote that despite reducing spending in some areas, the company must now “face the consequences of our lower revenue growth and adapt to the market environment”.
In August this year, Snap said it would lay off 20% of all staff and shut down projects to cut costs amid a depreciating economy.
