A Bengaluru-based AI startup founder who had alleged that his company’s wearable devices were stolen from a “high-security zone” at the India AI Impact Summit in Delhi has confirmed that the devices have been recovered, nearly 24 hours after he initially reported them missing.
According to police sources, two individuals who were present at the summit for work have been identified. Authorities are currently examining whether the incident constitutes theft or if the devices were inadvertently taken.
Dhananjay Yadav, founder of NeoSapien, shared an update on social media stating that the devices were quickly traced following police intervention.
“Just wanted to update everyone, our devices have been recovered. Huge thanks to Delhi Police for the superfast response and support. Truly grateful for all the messages, help, and encouragement we’ve received over the last two days — it means a lot to me,” he wrote.
The Delhi Police had registered an FIR after Yadav reported that his company’s AI-powered wearable devices went missing on the opening day of the summit at Bharat Mandapam. An investigation is ongoing, with CCTV footage from the venue currently under review.
Dhananjay Yadav took to X to recount what he called a “shocking” experience on the opening day of the summit, claiming the theft occurred after exhibitors were asked to vacate their stalls ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
“Day 1 of the AI Impact Summit turned to be a pain for us,” Yadav wrote. “I came genuinely excited... it was the first time the summit was being hosted in India, and I wanted to show up personally to support the ecosystem and the government’s push.”
