Starting with an automation business in the year 1992, Strategic Marketing has evolved itself over the years. It is a leading distributor of HP in the Uttarakhand market and is enthusiastic about its relationship with the corporate sector.
The dealer has a team of 57 people and five branches to cater to the Uttarakhand market. It is experiencing growth of Rs.26 crore per annum. Some of its major clients include IIT–Roorkee, Kumaon University and Tehri Hydro Development Corporation.
Sharing more details, Vikas Dewan, Partner – Strategic Marketing, Dehradun said,–“We started our association with HP in the year 2000 as its retail partner. We also do automation business with Toshiba–HCL, but it is purely a separate entity. Uttarakhand was formed in the year 2002 and post that the IT revolution came into the state. HP grew and we grew with HP.”
When asked what is the best thing about HP, he replied, “The best thing I appreciate about doing business with HP is their interaction/communication network and the range of products available with them. If a partner specifically focusses on this brand, he does not really require a second business to align his businesses. Whether we talk about“– starting from basics like ISS, IPG, to higher level like Storage or Services – partners can go to customers and say tell us your requirement and we are ready to fulfil it.”
The dealer’s main focus is on the government sector. HP has chosen Strategic Marketing as a member of its HP advisory board. When asked how it feels to be a member of this board, Dewan answered, “I am a small player, but HP to have selected me and called me to a forum where I can represent a smaller market and share my grievances is a great honour for me. I am sitting with the top management of the company today and putting in my viewpoint; so it’s a great experience. And I am sure HP will take our inputs into account.”
When asked about the problems being faced by the company, Dewan said, “Every company has problems or issues and it is part of every business and the best thing is that HP responds to them quickly. Therefore, we are here to discuss it with the top brass of the company and find some permanent solutions.”
